Le maquillage!

Makeup!
I have never posted about it anywhere, and I'm not sure why. I have loved quality makeup since I was old enough to wear it. I don't know if I feel like typing out each individual product/brush and how I applied it, but really this is just about my newest discovery - highlighting & contouring. It can change your face drastically! I am still learning and will be changing this lots over time I'm sure. This isn't going to be a makeup blog, but makeup is fun & definitely one of my hobbies.
Today I decided to highlight & contour and wear mascara and sport a more "natural" looking face....I feel like such a liar using the word natural at all in this post. There is a lot of makeup involved. Like the most makeup ever.

All I can say is I'm sorry.....
Sort of sorry about this one, too.

This unamused picture shows how much thinner the contouring makes my nose appear.

That's it for now! I'm getting back into the makeup game so I will be posting makeup pictures periodically. Highlighting & countouring is so much fun though =^_^=

Du soleil avec de la neige?

I came back from San Diego & all of the sudden it was Christmas! That means Christmas music! Behold, my 3 favorite Christmas albums & a cute cute video.

1. Sufjan Stevens' songs for Christmas: I love Sufjan's voice, but the banjo used on this album makes it so perfect. O Come O Come Emmanuel is probably my favorite. I have a hard time finding the track that he actually sings on anywhere but YouTube, but it's unreasonable how many times I repeat this song during the holidays.

2. Bright Eyes - A Christmas Album: This album is so good. I have been a sucker for Bright Eyes since I was 13 years old & I am beginning to think that this will not change, even though it's a little embarrassing at times. The First Noel is way too cute to even be real, & the entire album is so calm and sweet.

The She & Him Christmas album. By now, everyone should know that this is one of the cutest Christmas albums out there. Listen to it if you haven't! Don't let Christmas music be annoying, it

+ to leave you with an overdose of cute, CŒUR DE PIRATE.

Les Livres.

Well, since I got a kindle for my birthday (something I swore against doing because I liked paper books) I have started reading a lot more. And I realized, the kindle is a beautiful thing. It takes up less space, the pages don't get folded, you never lose your spot, and you don't lose your highlighter in your bed every 2 minutes. You can un-hilight easily, you don't have to go to the book store, it costs way less money, there are lots of free options, etc etc. So, even though I wanted to be old fashioned and deny technology taking over the world - I'm converted.

I'm not sure why it is, but I have always steered clear of fiction books. Now that my roommates and I can share books on our kindles, I plan to start reading them too. The kindle is changing me!! This is below is when I stopped at a coffee shop in Kingston and read The Gifts of Imperfection.
Look! It even looks kind of cute!

Recently though, I have stuck to my norm - books that leave me with something. The first book I downloaded was Lauren Conrad's beauty book (how 16 of me). But we all know Lauren Conrad is hot.

This book is great. I immediately plucked my eyebrows, painted my nails (with a base coat), used moisturizer, toner and exfoliated my face and started using bronzer after closing it.. or pressing home or whatever. It explains everything from exercise and sleep to not ever scrutinizing your face in a magnifying mirror. Read it!

The Gifts of Imperfection
So I guess this would be my first time reading a "self-help" book, which I actually find kind of odd. I loved it, and I'm a little sad that I can't be reading it forever. It helps you identify when you're being too harsh on yourself, teaches you how to prevent it and teaches you how important YOU time is. It made me want to sleep more, relax more and listen to more music. It also taught me a lot about showing compassion to other people without feeling like I have to solve everyone's problems. It even inspired me to stop caring about what everyone else thinks and start my own blog!

I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for a solution to every problem you have.

Let's catch up.

Since we last spoke -

I turned 22, I declared an international business major.
I moved in with 3 awesome friends in a super cute house.
I landed myself a very sweet, huge boyfriend.
I got a kindle & started reading more.
Most importantly, I got inspired, again.
I got my first roll of film developed for a long time, and here are a couple shots!
Look! our little living room

I am so excited to start creating more & sharing more.

Re-introduction.

So, I'm here again. And hopefully this time I can stick with the whole blogging thing! Here's why I decided to start a new blog: I have always wanted to keep up an actual blog so I can keep my head set on doing things for myself: reading, finding new music, dressing nice, thrifting, taking photos, baking and appreciating little things. I have also always wanted to share my findings with other people & get inspiration through blogging. I think I have lots to share & lots to learn. I also have a lot of cute cat pictures to share with the world.

Here's why I haven't kept up with my past blogs:
1) It feels a little vulnerable sharing the things I create with other people.
It's a little odd imagining people looking at the things I think are cool when I'm not around: I plan to get over this.
2)I don't want to act different on the internet than I do in real life, I don't want to make an internet persona and I don't want to seem like a perfect crafty organized do-gooder. I realized I can write on the internet without trying to seem perfect. I'm messy, I'm clumsy, I'm silly and I'm definitely not perfect. I'm not going to use big words or lingo that I would never use in real life. It'll be casual, so I'm not embarrassed.
3) Time! I am busy. Or I was. Until I quit my barista job to focus on school. So now I have some extra time, and I think I can manage to keep this up!
I don't expect many people to read this but I hope those that do take something neat away from it!

On a lighter note; here is the fuzziest warmest thing I have to offer you. Well, besides the little pomeranian I live with.
Kirby is about 5 years old. He's a birman and he is my left hand man. He loves snuggling, sleeping and that's it. I might make myself seem insane, but luckily most people think he's cute too. Kirby & I promise to not be shy and to share lots of great things that come to mind! <3
